Winter is begining to grind

It's all coming back to me now......why we chose the cruising lifestyle that is. For a moment I had forgotten in the excitement of the house and making renovations, etc. But now even with a relatively mild winter so far I am harking back to anchoring among the spoil islands in Florida's ICW, or along the Cays in the Bahamas and I am starting to get itchy. I want to make the repairs to Nelleke; I want to get her back into the water; and most of all I want her up here in Shelburne with us where even as we wait for Barb's surgery and recovery to unfold, we can take short cruises on weekends or even go out to the mouth of Shelburne harbour for a quiet evening.
Sigh.
I am fighting to conceal my raging envy of our friends that are still on the water. I regularly read their blog posting and it just fuels the fire.
Oh well. When we are ready to go again we will have everything settled in the house so we'll have a place to come back to and a free spot to "store" our belongings and furniture. Meanwhile we can mentally cruise with our pals and perhaps even take a couple of weeks and cruise for real, either aboard Nelleke, or aboard the MoHo, or even aboard a rented boat in one of the faraway spots that we read about or watch on the tube.
Barb has done about 60% of the floor in the kitchen and I have rented a sandeer to finish the job. That'll keep everyone busy and terrify the wee hound I expect
