You come across sailors in some unexpected places

I was making some phone calls to try to activate some dormant projects in the town and came across a lady who works for the municipality who also has an engineering background. Turns out she and her husband are avid sailors with he being the guy who was pointed out to me last year as one of the top Albacore sailors in the world who had retired to Shelburne and was teaching at the learn to sail school at the club. Neat how you keep meeting folks with like interests, ain't it?
One the humble side, I found out yesterday that I'm not the gorilla that I used to be. A couple of weeks ago we bought two pieces of furniture for the house from the output of an auction. They are the cabinets that you would normally see in a hotel room that contain the TV as well as a couple of extra drawers for clothes if you are planning to stay a while. Well these damn things are way way way heavier than you would expect as I found out when I tried to get one of them upstairs. Even with a furniture dolly we couldn't get it past the first step.
Sigh.
There was a time when I think that I would have just picked it up and slung it up there but no more. We are going to have to hire a team of fellows to help out. Oh, the embarassement of it all.
