The new kitchen floor is on the way down

It certainly is a lot easier putting this floor down that was the one we put into Nelleke even though it is much larger. The difference is the straight edges and right angles. Add to that the fact that I am using an air hammer to put the nails in and it should be a breeze. Only problem at the start I think is that we got too large nails. By that I mean that they are too long with the result that there is still about a quarter inch sticking out after the compressor whangs them in, so I have to shave a little off the next board where it meets the spot where the nail is and it's slowing me down a bit. This morning Barb is going to try to exchange a package of 2" nails for 1 3/4" one and we'll see how that goes.
If you haven't already done so you should check out the blogs for our friends that we have on the right side of the page. If you looke closely you will see that there are several URL likns to a variety of people that we have met and are trying to stay in contact with. Some have stopped posting but many such as Coba Libre, Close Knit, and Silverheels III put up new postings on a regular basis. They are my sanity check while I am sitting here in the cold. Today Silverheels is talking about the Grenada Independence Day festivities, Coba Libre is diving and enjoying themselves in the BVIs and Close Knit is talking about life afloat on the West Coast of Florida. We have not yet made it to Grenada but we have been to both coasts of Florida and it is nice to have our memories jogged. I am envious!
I just have to keep telling myself that when we get going we will be better off finacially and for long term planning ----- better off financially and for long term --------- better off financially and for the long term------
Plus Barb's knees will be way way better.
