Well!
The VIP Day at the show at least was good weather. Today it looks as though, with overcast skies etc., we may very well be in for some rain; tomorrow for sure. At least the weather witches are not calling for too high winds.
We went ashore with the wonder dog at about 0930 so we would be in a position to link up with Marcia who had some things for us to carry south for them. They have become partt time Florida residents and bought a furnished home in the Keys that they want to take down some personal items to but there is only so much that they can carry with them on the airplane. Hence the Turney transport service. They have been such great folks that we are more than happy to help. It's easy since we have loads of room.
We went ashore again to visit the show, this time not as VIPs and it appears that the unwashed are much better behaved that the rich and privileged. Crowds were more orderly and polite and it seemed fewer. Perhaps the rain had something to do with that. In fact, the rudest people that we came across at the show have been some of the vendors. Folks selling stuff like sunglasses or overpriced t-shirts, will quickly turn their backs on you if you don't immediately start reaching for your wallet. They are looking for the quick sale. We bought a new industrial sewing machine, one that does zig-zag stitching so Barb will be able to work on sails. The price was one of the few good deals to be got at the show and we are having it delivered to Deltaville to wait for us there. I also got a great idea for an outboard gallows to replace the one that is presently next to the companionway. It involves a couple of compression clamps and a piece of pipe that we will attach to the wind generator mast to dual purpose that. The gallows that we use now is a bit busy at the transom of the boat and was gifted to us so we could pay it forward and gift it to someone else.
We have been running the little suitcase generator for about 6 hours daily for the last couple of days both to compensate for the lack of sun or wind but also to get rid of the old gas. The little beast has been doing a great job keeping up with the lack of sun.
The end of our visit to Annapolis is drawing near and we are figuring out our next steps. Barry has suggested several short day trips from here to Deltaville that will give us a chance to explore the other side of the bay. Alan and Heather are coming over this afternoon for a joint recce of the cruising guides. Plus we will lay plans for tomorrow's seminars at the boat show.
Alan, Heather, Jean and Marjo were all her for a soirée this evening which was very pleasant. We are prepared for tomorrow and the future for the next couple of days.
