At the risk of being boring, this will be another short one.
On our last full day of visit with daughter Kayte we drove to Coco Beach for a sit on said beach and to check out their art festival. The festival in particular was extremely interesting from my perspective to see the variety of creative and innovative arts and crafts on display. The major lesson that Barb and I will both take away is that if you put goods up in an arts and crafts market you can underprice your product to the detriment if sales. Too low a price and there will always be someone who wants to haggle you down or who will say that their Uncle Ernie can make one of them just like it for a fraction of your price. On the other hand if you put a major price on it, it becomes art, or valuable and even the hagglers will start at a higher price. For instance Barb saw some jewelry like products that she made for which she wasn't able to get the price of materials for let alone her time, being offered for sale and bought at five, six and more times what she had been asking for. They were being purchased too. Of course there is a much larger market here plus the buying public are here mostly on holidays so they are more prepared to buy something.
The sit on the beach was interesting to watch the surfers zoom back and forth. Looks like fun. I know that Kayte has surfed but I only did roller board surfing. I kept looking for a triangular fin to liven things up but no dice.
We also took final advantage of Kayte's presence and her rental car to make a last Publix run for heavy objects from the grocery store.
Tomorrow she will depart and we will see about getting Peri his vet's clearance for the Bahama's. It's been great having Kayte here to visit, and to be able to travel about and see the sights but I know she has to get back to her work and career. I'd love to be a multi millionaire and be able to hire her and son Chris. Then there would be no more prolonged absences.
