This morning was another windy day but at least the sun is shining.
We are waiting to hear what is happening with our friend Vince on Finn McCool. At last note he was replacing his fuel tank, a rather major undertaking I would imagine and that as of yesterday the new tank had arrived. I hope it doesn't involve to much tearing out of decking flooring and bulkheads which is the story I have heard of other similar undertakings.
Friends on Moonlight Maid are in the Bahamas and on their way to Nassau. The only question that I have is whether they will backtrack to visit the Abacos or continue their trek southward through the Exumas and further south. Sometime I look at myself and my previous position that no way Jose were were coming back to the Abacos and we were heading to the Exumas and look what we would have missed. Perhaps next year if we get to Nellleke in Florida in October and maybe we could head south first for November and then head on back up here for December through March. Can always have plans, can't we?
This morning we retraced our steps towards the south end of Elbow Cay towards White Sound to check out the other grocery store down there and I must say, that if it wasn't for the distance to walk and our lack of transportation other than our own two feet, that would probably be our store of choice - greater selection, fresher produce, prices about the same....as I say, the only thing is the 40 minute hike to get there followed by the one back. I reminded myself that we do have a fold up bike aboard which we haven't used on this trip. Maybe it's time to break it out.
This afternoon I will be putting a little more wire into the monkey's breakfast to the bilge pump and then cable tying it all together. Perhaps then I won't be so able to disconnect one of the wires when I am working in the bilge.
The sunken sport fisher is closer to shore now, still on its side but something is being done to it. Good to see, but I am a little disappointed in myself for not moving more quickly on it myself.
