I have taken a note from Barb and I am writing the blog post from now on on the notes app and then I will cut-and-paste them into the blog. This has a several advantages, namely first, that I can make mistakes and fix them before posting, second that if something happens all my work is saved, and finally that I can add notes all day and only have one post at then end of it rather than two or three little burps.
This morning before we set off to reward ourselves with a brief outing to a farmers market in Stuart there was a small rainshower here in Indiantown which briefly cut down the humidity, but which I suspect will only exacerbate the situation when it stops and all that water evaporates in the heat again.
All the batteries are now out on the deck for replacement on Monday. I am kicking myself for not taking better care of them. The cranking bank, in particular, are practically new and were replaced when we replaced the diesel engine. The house bank on the other hand was installed in 2001 so it is 15 years old and doesn't really owe us anything. Still with lead acid batteries in particular they require regular maintenance which is where I failed. The new house bank will be AGM which will recharge quicker and require less maintenance.we are looking forward to their scheduled delivery tomorrow morning.
Now it is close of Sunday business for wee Mikey. The trip to the Farmers Market was really interesting. Fruit and vegetables were very inexpensive while retaining a high quality, but anything that required any prep time such as artisan products or prepared food was, by contrast, quite expensive. Barb took a number of photos which are out in the photo gallery under 2017 Boat Recovery/Indiantown and Stuart. We also linked up with our friends Jim and Sharleen for lunch at a Tapis Cafe which was quite good even more so that they let us sit there in thenAC for quite a while.
On the negative side my demon gout has returned but this time in a different foot due, no doubt, to an increase in alcohol consumption, which seems to come with the lifestyle and the heat. Gout is caused by uric acid crystallizing in your joints, most often in your feet. am popping anti-inflammatories to reduce the swelling, and taking a cup of tart cherry juice daily to cut down on the body's uric acid production. I'll be glad to get on top of it again.
