More progress. At least it is measureable

It's Wednesday and we have moved onto the boat. Not that we are going anywhere soon, but it does represent a commitment, which is important, I think.
Barb has tidied up and pretty much closed out the house and the only reason that we might be going back while we are waiting for the weather window would be if we have forgotten anything or we need to take a shower. The Admiral has already told me that the bathtub, my cleaning spot of choice, has been cleaned and is out of bounds until we get back. The fridge has been emptied and contents either given away , thrown away, or relocated to the boat. All my chores for boat readiness have been done save one - hooking up the hydro generator to the prop shaft, and that I will do tomorrow AM.
I did try to start our Yamaha suitcase generator this morning and good thing that I did as it refused to start. So, a flying trip to the local dealership, which is in Pubnico, a 40 minute tootle down the 103 and a couple of hours later and $150 lighter in my wallet and it has a new life. Although I have been very aware of the sensitivity of these small four stroke engines to fuel problems, it turns out that I also need to be sensitive to the jerry can that we store the gas in too. Although I put new gas in the generator fuel tank, I had bought it at a gas station and pumped it into to old 1 gallon can which has a collection of dirt in the bottom which got nicely stirred up and deposited into the generator tank looking for a carb to clog.
As for the weather, it looks like we will still be here for a while.
Sigh.
There are now four boats sitting in Shelburne waiting for the same window and we are all hoping that the jet stream will undulate away and carry off the successions of lows that it has had marching across North America and dumping in our laps
