...... of a particularly frantic day. We haven’t finished closing up the house but we have moved aboard. I cannot even begin to imagine what it would be like if we were trying to finish everything and depart tomorrow. The Admiral would divorce me for sure.
Barb has been doing most of the heavy lifting as far as the house closing is concerned whereas I have been working on Nelleke getting the finer points finished aboard and ready for departure. The things that I am doing now are those details that will make life bearable. Things like the lights in the forward part of the boat. About a week ago they suddenly decided that they weren’t going to work and after that length of time ruminating over the problem I decided to check the control switch. Guess what!? It was always off. In other words it wouldn’t turn on. In the interests of expediency i just removed the switch and joined the two ends with a butt connector. After all each of the lights have their own on/off switch. Why do we need another?
We will stay on the boat tonight and tomorrow we will move the rest of the perishables aboard and turn off the water. Barb will continue to find a place for everything and put everything in its place and I will try to find out why the Wi-Fi booster antenna doesn’t work and I will hook up the Class B AIS unit and test it out. If I have time I will hook up the speakers to the home entertainment unit and to the ship board computer.
Then we should be in readiness and weather window allowing we will be ready for departure on Thursday morning.
