A trip up to the head of the Chesapeake

We left the mooring field at seven fifteen. It was almost still dark with the overcast skies and we motored up the bay cutting corners when we could and arrived at the west end of the C&D Canal by two thirty. Pretty good timings considering we were pushing the current and a ten knot wind. Unfortunately that's as far as we could go as they had closed the canal due to fog conditions. That's a first for us but in fairness we have never tried to transit the canal at this time of year. Perhaps it's common in October.

Anyway, we pulled into one of our favourite anchorages in the Bohemia River and set the hook for the night.

Not much else to post of any interest.
