...and that’s today! When we wake up tomorrow we will be out of quarantine.
Hurrah!
Best hurrah is that we are not sick. It's a bit scary if you follow the US and central Canadian reports for infections and deaths due to this pandemic. We have run the gauntlet and emerged unscathed and we have Nelleke home.
We had a phone call from the RCMP constable who visited us the night before last to confirm that we were maintaining quarantine. He had made some phone calls and confirmed that somehow the system has me down as living in Shelburne Ontario rather than Nova Scotia. He made sure that they changed it to me living here in NS and that I was maintaining quarantine. It was very good of him to let me know.
We have been watching the ”second wave” of the pandemic both in the US and in Canada, particularly here in Atlantic Canada. As I mentioned in a previous post the Nova Scotian government is leaning forward to try to put the brakes on the second wave before it gets too strong a grip on the population. The Newfoundland government is looking at redefining the Atlantic Bubble and requiring a quarantine period for travelers from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick who come there. All this is with positive tests a fraction of what they are elsewhere in Canada. It will produce some hardships to some people but in the long term it will keep the number of infections and fatalities down.
We are so bored! We have even started thinking in terms of having another pet in the house, possibly a cat but most likely a dog. We’ve done some research and discovered that this will be an unusually and unexpectedly expensive proposition. perhaps we have too much time on our hands, and once we are back outside of our quarantine common sense will prevail.
Tomorrow we will go for a walk, buy some necessary supplies for winterizing the boat at the hardware store, pay a visit to Nella car, and then later in the day go to the yacht club for happy hour. Back to normal.
One more day and a wakey. Today is the last day of quarantine.
Hurray!
Hurray!
Hurray!
