Comfortable, albeit windy night....

...and more to come, I’m afraid, but we are safe and secure.
If nothing else the wind is pushing the wind generator keep our house bank fully loaded.
We were a little concerned that the launch service that comes with the mooring fee wouldn’t be running today due to the wind levels but they did come out and made multiple trips for us. One to take us in for breakfast and a visit to the local grocery and hardware store; a second to bring us back; a third to take me and the water jugs in to shore to be refilled; a fourth to bring me and the water back; a fifth to take Ghillie and I in for her one walk ashore. She used the green mat in the middle of the night for a No 1 but we haven’t been able, yet, to persuade her to use it for No 2. I can’t say enough nice things about the harbour master and his staff. Hey have been incredibly accommodating and extremely skilled. Although they stopped the launch service early today due to the wind, the harbour master did say that we should call him tomorrow and, if he could, he would still come out to pick us up. As I said, very accommodating!
Every time we are in town we stop for breakfast, or in today’s case, brunch, at the Pier View Cafe. Can’t recommend the place highly enough and, judging from the number of locals that make it their stop for breakfast, we aren’t the only ones of that opinion. Then we went to get a few staples at the “grocery” store, which is really a convenience store on steroids, and a few items at Ace Hardware. We bought six one pound propane canisters at $6.75US each, which even with the exchange to Canadian is cheaper by $1 than the $10Cdn at home.
As I have said, there are two Canadian boats sharing the mooring field with us but we haven’t met any of the crews. We did have a brief “Hello” with the crew of a Benateau from Colorado who’are also out here. Everyone seems to be tucked into their cabins letting the weather blow by. Not the climate to be visiting, I’m afraid and sorry to say.
Our plans to continue remain in a state of flux. It would be nice to make Block Island out next stop. We will see how things work out.
