Here we are, still at the mooring on Saturday. The day is bright with sunshine and calm seas and the weather tomorrow is calling for more of the same. I just hope that there will be some reasonable wind for us to give the engine a rest. We bought some fuel at Brown's today. About 20% cheaper than at home. There was a big power yacht right ahead of us at the fuel dock that gulped down 2000 gallons. Yep, gallons, not litres. At $4.40/gal the owner just dropped $10K to get back to Florida! And, judging from his expression of total boredom on the rear deck, that didn't bother him a bit. Mind you, it didn't look as if much interested him. I guess tons o' money does not equal tons of fun.
We took as short hike about the town and visited their Cape Anne Museum. This was quite the place, more of an art gallery than a real museum, but they had an amazing collection of paintings and sculptures, well worth the visit. Barb then bought me lunch and I thought that I'd go easy on her and bought the cheapest thing that I could find, the Pilot Burger for $4.95. I had forgotten about the American family food restaurant's propensity for HONKIN' BIG portions. I am really glad that I didn't ask for a side order of fries when I saw what they were bringing to other tables! Whew! Close one!
I had plans to do a buncha work on teh boat but were sidetracked by John and Cindi, another couple off Glass Slipper, another, albeit newer and fancier Moody, on a mooring just behind us. We got to socializin' and next thing you know, after three bottles of wine on our boat and another one on theirs, a movie, and dinner, it was 10 o'clock - the latest we have stayed up for a long time.
Then an early bed time for our early start at first light in the AM.
