In the bilge

I have been in the bilge for a week fitting a electronic antifouling system, I hope it works. Nellie has just re-entered the water after the first haul out since launch, all in all happy with the condition after 2 years.

We negotiate the 8 metre lock with out trouble and find the current is slower on the other side. It is our plan to go to a restaurant but we can't find a suitable pontoon so again we are at anchor.

Its located about 20 minutes from Amsterdam on the Markenmeer. It has a reputation for building big luxury motor yachts in the 30 million plus range
The marina has about 400 vessels, mostly sail.
The Markenmeer is a non tidal stretch of water but the level varied alot this year as it is very dry in Holland now.

Tuesday 25th May.
We arrive in Belgrade and find a very nice place to stay on a floating barge only to find that it belongs to a tourist boat who is not happy to see us. We move and ask permission to tie alongside a huge push tug. They make us very welcome. and we stay for 5 days.

We enter the 2 stage lock and find a very large hotel boat in the upper lock.
We wait for her to come into our chamber before moving into the second chamber. The skipper of the boat pays us a compliment on Nellie looks.
