The Photo was taken while we were leaving Finlay Cay. The pretty turquoise water with Finlay Cay in the background. Finlay Cay is a small island half way between Little Current Cut and Sail Rocks in the Exumas, 15 miles from anywhere. The area is mostly sand dry at low water. The small island is uninhabited most likely due to the fact that it is completely surounded by sand bars in every direction. We took a dingy ride in and enjoyed an afternoon game of Bauchi on the beach, then explored the coral around the Island with the lookie bucket and back to the boat for drinks and a game of rummy. Such a peaceful place, the wind was low and the sun was setting and the water color just perfect. We anchored for the night. We left the next morning for Norman's Pond. Our first task was to get thru the coral reef area, sailing a little more south then back to the west. We did have to keep a very good lookout as they were everywhere and had to be avoided. After about an hour we were clear of coral and sailing along nicely. We arrived at Norman's Cay Pond early in the afternoon at almost low tide so getting in the pond which only has three and a half feet in areas at low water we skimmed thru without touching. We have been doing some kayaking around the pond also took the kayak's to MacDuff's the only Bar/Restaurant on the Island for an afternoon tea, hahaha. The water temperature has changed drastically from Spanish Wells to the Exumas, we are at about 68 degrees from the 85 we were at in Spanish Wells. We plan to spend the next few days in Normans Pond while all of the fronts and high winds pass by.Time to go diving for Lobster and conch. We will let you know how that fairs out
