Sail to Korĉula Island
07 September 2013 | Brna
Mike & Monica
We are in delivery mode now in order to get the boat to Dubrovnik on Monday. After our tour of Vis Island we motored to the southern coast of Korĉula Island. At Brna we found a nice anchorage where there was already one other boat with an Italian flag. The sandy bottom meant we slept very well because of the good holding.
Monica-We had such a peaceful day motoring getting a chance to catch up on our book reading that we had determined to do as part of vacation. The narrow inlet is lined with limestone cliffs (small) but grants the illusion of being nestled safely and tucked in tight for the night.
On this trip I held out hope for eagles or hawks, dolphins and shooting stars. On our way to this anchorage I saw the fins emerging from the water at a distance, saw their playfulness and their circling together for food-one happy girl. In the moonless sky the stars were mesmerizing shining forth through the Milkyway and capturing our heart. In the midst of the awe of this sight I could only say the words of the Psalmist-‘the heavens declare the glory of God’ I saw two shooting stars and made my wish.
We are off again in the sun, the flat sea and headed to our final parking place for the season.
