Loggerhead to Loggerhead

12 April 2013 | Vero Beach, Florida
Waiting out some storms
This will be our 3rd night here at the very nice Loggerhead Marina in Vero Beach. We arrived here from Loggerhead, Stuart on the 10th after a 45 statute mile run on the ICW from Stuart. The reciprocity arrangement among the 14 Loggerhead marinas allows us to stay here for free - quite nice!

We will depart here for Cocoa Beach after several storm systems pass through. In the meantime, we are enjoying ourselves in the very nice marina pool and, after dinner on board tonight, will watch one of our DVDs on the large tv in the Captain's Lounge. Gary and Kathy on Gatsby will be joining us for dinner and the movie. Gatsby is in the next slip and was with us during our prolonged stay in Stuart.

We very much enjoyed our time in Stuart, except for wake action from sport fishermen that caused some damage in the marina - Gatsby and it's neighbor hit masts, ripping Gatsby's headsail and causing more damage to its' neighbor. Gatsby also suffered a broken chaulk from stress. Syestial Star experienced
damage to a power cord fitting that is still operable.

While in Stuart, we were able to also get together with our friends Kari and Burrill, who live nearby.
