Today a new member was added to the crew. I would like to introduce 'Gus.' He is a 2 month old daschund and will hopefully be good company. I guess we'll see how he does on the boat. (PICTURES TO COME)

I bought my first sailboat just a few days ago and we're underway to Crisfield, MD where I will be living aboard for the next few years. There was a strong breeze out of the NW as we left the West river into the Chesapeake Bay. The sails were reefed and we were making almost 8 knts the whole day. Our first stop was Solomons Island where we spent the first night in a marina. Once ashore we grabbed some chow and talked to some other sailors working on their boat for the upcoming season. We were up and underway the next day as the sun was rising on the horizon. Next stop, Crisfield. The wind was calm and we had to motor until we got to the Smith Island. Once through the straights we hoisted sail and cruised into Somers Cove. The first sign we saw heading into Crisfield was "Welcome to Crisfield, The Crabbing Capitol Of The World." Once into the marina, we thru some lines on and went to a local restaruant to grab some dinner. We talked about the 17 hour trip and enjoyed some fresh seafood. Back on the boat I did a little bit of cleaning up, trying to make it feel more like home. It's gonna take a bit to get use to but should be a fun adventure.
