Less than two weeks to go

19 July 2010 | Suffolk
Dermot O'Riordan
It's only two weeks before I set off to join Young Larry. After a weekend on call, I'll embark upon a two day journey flying to Pond Inlet at the top of Baffin Island, Nunavut

Young Larry is currently making her way up the West coast of Greenland.

I am gradually collecting the warm clothes etc that I need as well a pile of spares that Andrew needs for the boat. I am going to be way over my baggage allowance.

Once on board the aim (ice conditions permitting!) is to get through the NW Passage, sail along the North coast of Alaska, through the Bering Straits between Alaska and Russia. I am booked to fly back from Nome, Alaska on Tues 14th Sept.

Really excited at the whole prospect.

Will try and keep this blog post updated with progress and pictures, satellite phone data technology permitting.
