Week 50

As we pack our bags and prepare to head to the airport to rejoin Chinook, we reflect on the past year, how it has past so quickly, with so much achieved and what we have left in store for us as we accelerate blindly towards the impending launch and the unknown. My only conclusion is that we are completly and irreversibly mad and should men in white coats, one day appear, complete with straight jackets and dripping syringes, it would not surprise me in the least! They only have one problem, and that is that my knee is well and truly down, in this the final corner of this most gruelling of endurance restorations, and we are about to open the throttle for the mad dash down the home straight towards the chequered flag, so I seriously doubt that they will catch me!
This past week has been full of dashing around sourcing those final bits and pieces we need to complete the work. Much has been found, many questions answered, and some purchases made. One such purchase is a lovely pair of Victorian brass taps to complete the original "Motts" corner basin and I hope I will be forgiven for using English taps on an American basin! Please forgive the lack of photos this week. My camera fell from the top of a ladder two weeks ago and has been pronounced dead. However, I promise to remedy this next week.
Meanwhile, stay tuned for breaking news!
