Moussau, SCUBA training
24 September 2009 | Moussau
Alison took Keithson diving for his PADI certification. Gardner finally did his laundry and collected rain. Chris embraced insanity and had a near death experience with the most expensive inverter money can buy failing as well as continued sat phone dramas. Cleo worked on a report about our findings in Nonovaul that OceansWatch is planning to present to John Aini and Hugh Walton from Ailan Awarenes and The Institute for Sustainable Fisheries, respectively. In the afternoon Cleo, Alison, and Keithson went to do a Reef Check survey and finish Keithsons' PADI Open Water certification. Chris didn't have time to go diving around Mussau so he took a few hours for a snorkel where he saw sharks, 6 turtles, and giant clams! We packed up the boat and left at sunset with 2 local hitch hikers, some really stinky trochus shells, and Keithson on board.
