Moved anchorage to the southern side of Maskylene Island. From here we walked to the village of Pelonk on the eastern side of the island to meet with Ron Miller, the local Reef Check team leader. The enthusiasm of the team had died a little however, we managed to get a few of the old members back into it to survey at their permanent monitoring site.
They took us out on their Reef Check canoe (see photo), which was kindly donated by the NZ High Commision! We were all very cold by the time we finished and we were so happy to be hosted for lunch when we got to shore. Rice and bobo (papaya) juice. YUM!
