After a day of prepping the boat for my absence, I went for a last cocktail party on True Companion with Nat and Gravel, and the usual suspects. The sunset was spectacular, but it is hard to tell looking over the big motor yachts. We went to a new Thai place that was really good. They had newly-finished tables and chairs inside and the fumes were awful.
The next morning I put the last minute touches on Odyssey and then headed to the airport. I was given a ride by a great couple, Bruce and Button, from across the dock. They were the ones that brought John and I cold beers after our exciting docking episode. They are so nice, and have seemed to adopt me. At the airport I was paged, then thoroughly searched and held in quarantine to wait our boarding. There was another detainee, Rick, who looked a lot like me, and we hit it off. Seems we have the "look" which calls out to be searched. Rick has a cool house outside of town, and he told me of some great restaurants to try. If I tell the manager that Rick sent me, I am sure to get the royal treatment. Thanks Rick! The flight was delayed one hour, and no, it was not because of me. Made it to LA after very scenic flight up the Sea of Cortez. Got home and started adding layers of clothes. Man, I must have thinned out my blood while on this trip.
Well, this ends my blog for a while, but I will pick it up again when I get back down there and start having adventures. Hopefully, some of you will join me.
Thanks to all of you who spent the time to read this swill.
Cheers, Bill
