After running around to get some last minute provisions like beer, gasoline for the dinghy, and a fishing license for Cody, we left the Marina at about 1000 am. The wind was coming from the south (behind us), so it was pretty warm. We stopped to get fuel, but the wait was too long, so we continued on our way.
Quite soon, we caught a small dorado, which got off at the boat. We sailed and motored our way to Ensenada Del Candelero, arriving about 300 pm, and anchoring in 18' of crystal water. After taking a quick dip, as it was really hot, we put up the sun shade, and dropped the dinghy into the water. We loaded up all of our snorkeling gear and took the dinghy over to the big pile of rocks that give this place it's name. The water was 82 degrees and quite clear. We all made our way around the rocks, seeing fish of many types and colors, with Cody catching the whole deal on the GoPro camera. Stand by for trip videos.
Back at the boat it was sweltering, so we all kept cool by jumping in the water and drinking cool drinks. Cody started fishing and soon had caught two nice-sized triggerfish, which I later over-cooked! We were treated to a pretty sunset and brilliant stars as night fell. A cool breeze came up, which really made the comfort level improve. At about 100 am the cool breeze became a stiff wind of 15-20 knots, making for a somewhat rolley night.
