A stop in Paradise

We finally had a non-windy night, so we all slept fitfully. Another clear and perfect morning. We upped anchor, bound for Isla San Francisco, and arrived about two hours later. There were only three other boats, and none of them were in the favored location for the night time winds, so we anchored in THE SPOT in 12 feet of the clearest water you have ever seen. We had breakfast and then took the dinghy to the beach. We did the usual ridge hike, which yielded spectacular vistas and pictures. Susan and I took a quick paddleboard trip around the bay, where I saw a beautiful Dorado swim by. Next, we loaded up the dinghy for some snorkeling on the southern point. We had warm water, 60+ feet of visibility, and fish everywhere. I had an interesting time after spearing a parrot fish. He went into to a hole, and was not coming out. So then a couple of green Moray Eels decided to join the game. One went to eat my fish, while the other one took up a adversarial position, chasing me all over the place while I tried to free the fish and spear. I eventually freed the fish and spear, spying a nice lobster sharing the hole with the eels. We all agreed that this was our favorite stop of the trip.
Back at the boat, Cody went fishing, catching lots of puffer fish, and attracting a huge variety of fish, including two green eels ( the same ones, perhaps). I made some ceviche from the Pargo that we speared earlier in the trip. It was surprisingly good. After a great day, we had a picture perfect sunset and evening, with just a light breeze and about a 3/4 moon. We watched a movie, during which the wind came up and continued to blow hard all night. After preparing the boat for an early departure tomorrow, we all called it a night.
