Getting Ready

Bill, hot and humid
07/16/14
Today dawned slightly overcast and breezy. I hope the breeze stays around. We spent the morning doing some boat chores and changing the oil in the motor. Sometimes this job goes smoothly, and sometimes it doesn't. I managed to get oil on everything, including myself. What a mess! The day grew steadily warmer, reaching a very uncomfortable level of heat and humidity. Mike and I escaped the heat inside the local cafe, which was air conditioned. We ate and played cards for over 3 hours! When we exited, there was almost no breeze, so we cooled ourselves in the Marina water, which was over 85 degrees. We put up the sun shade and read our books, as the sounds of thunder slowly drew closer. By the time that we left for dinner, the storm was very close, threatening rain and displaying multiple lightning strikes at the same time.
We headed to one of my favorite places, Rancho Viejo, for dinner, as the food is excellent and it has air conditioning. While there we were treated to an amazing sunset and a bit of rain. We ended the evening playing more cards on the boat, and hoping for some cool winds.
