A long travel day getting to La Paz. Traveling with my good friend Mike S., we arrived early at the airport due to light holiday traffic. Just before our plane pulled away from the terminal, we were all asked to de-plane. We were delayed about an hour because someone found a bullet on the floor of the plane. I was able to change our shuttle reservations to a later time before we re-boarded the plane. We arrived after an uneventful flight, but the luggage took so long to appear that we came close to missing the shuttle from Cabo to La Paz. The driver told us that he could not drop us near the Marina, but did anyway, so we tipped him well.
We found Odyssey dusty and smelly from 4 months of neglect, a hurricane, and loss of power to both the freezer and refrigerator. Yuck, lots of stuff went straight into the trash. We tried to sort through all of the equipment, sails, and paddleboards that were stuffed into the main cabin in preparation for the arrival of Hurricane Odile. Dinner was at a nearby restaurant called La Costa, and was fabulous. We both turned in early and had a quiet night.
