The repairs continue

Today we finished installing the new batteries, which required having two of the massive battery cables shortened. We also pulled out the frozen water pump and tried to find parts for it around town. No such luck, so we entrusted the cranky pump to a new friend, Scott, from Oolawena, who is a diesel mechanic. He can fix anything, so we will wait in the Marina until it is repaired. We spent the day making improvements to Odyssey, such as painting motor parts and installing ventilation grills in the battery compartment.
The weather continues to be warm and clear, cooling at night. I am starting to fear that we might not get out of the Marina on this trip. Mike and I walked down the Malecon (boardwalk) to have dinner at a great place called the Bismark. We cabbed it home and played gin until turning in.
