Heading Home to the States

Bill, Breezy and overcast
01/16/15
This morning arrived with a beautiful sunrise and a stiff north breeze. I was going to climb the mast to get some broken parts down, so that I could bring replacements next time down, but I decided to wait until it is not windy. So no trip up the mast today. We spent the morning cleaning and stowing everything before gathering our spare food and giving it to our boat neighbor and good friend, Greg, aboard Scout. We took a cab to the bus station and Susan headed off to fill the last minutes with shopping. By the time she returned, the shuttle was loaded and waiting on her. Since we had bumped our flight seats to first-class ($50/ticket, such a deal!), I brought home a full bag of stuff from the boat (free checked luggage). We enjoyed the flight home and made it to our car in record time, only to be thwarted by Friday Los Angeles traffic. Both PCH and the 405 fwy were stopped. So we stopped for dinner at one of our favorite dives, Gilbert's El Indio. We finally made it home after about 1:45 of traffic.
What a great trip. Thanks to everyone who took the time to read this blog.
Cheers, Bill
