DAY 42 - Ria De Viveiro
26 July 2015

Today we were ready for the wind - whatever it decided to blow at us, was not going to be a problem. The trip started off brilliantly right wind strength, right direction, text book stuff . At one point we were sailing at 7.7knots , which for our land lubber friends is good !!
In fact blooming brilliant and we had sunshine. Then after 10 miles the wind died and engine had to go on to help the weary sails, which was a shame. Then as often happens the wind came back, bringing with it lumpy waves and light rain. But our spirits were soon lifted as we entered the river mouth as the playful lone dolphin who Fi had told us lived in the bay came out to greet us and hung around being nosey as we dropped the anchor.
We have had a chilled afternoon and evening playing cards and watching Derek the dolphin show off around the boats.
We tried to get some good photos but he obviously doesn't know his name yet. Ricky managed this shot, which was Derek at his most energetic.
Hope you like it Lydie x
Tomorrow we shall go and explore on land, but not until we have tried to have a swim with Derek .
Night night
