DAY 101 - Valencia
23 September 2015
On Monday we flew our beautiful cruising chute and caught a gentle breeze that brought us almost all the way to Valencia. On route Ricky caught another little fish that he let go again and me- well I just sat in the sunshine and watched the Spanish coast go by.
Hang on guys - I've just been called to eat so will finish blog after x
Sorry about that. Just eaten Ricky's wonderful pasta outside while looking at an awesome pink and orange sun set - wow!
Neither of us had ever been to Valencia so we didn't quite know what to expect.
On Tuesday we met a lovely couple called Bob and Wendy who keep their boat here and absolutely love it.We very soon realised why... A 7Km long sandy beach, sunshine almost all year , an opera house, museums , bustling cafes, international airport a tram ride away , the list goes on and on - oh and a very cheap, clean, friendly marina. We both agreed that we could see ourselves living here for a while - why wouldn't you? So we took the plunge and signed up for a 5 month mooring - so guys we are here until March- whoo hoo. Visitors welcome!
We had intended carrying on coastal hopping until November, weather permitting, but we could have ended up having to winter somewhere colder and less exciting - so we thought, let's stop on a high and enjoy this amazing city and continue the journey to Greece early Spring next year.
I will carry on the blog, and write a couple of times a month to let you have an update on what we are up to and please please carry on writing messages to us as we love hearing your news too.
Hope to see some of you soon .
Much love ,
Donna and Ricky x
