Two babes onboard Patience

Saturday 15th June
Finally after nine months and too many days of using poor Patience as a 'floating caravan,' we set off sailing- whoop whoop ! I feel she was practically begging to have her barnacles scraped off her hull, sails hoisted, be unshackled from the pontoon And taken out for a sail, like an excited puppy hearing you grab the lead out from the cupboard under the stairs.

But before we begin to share our tales of bobbing along on the beautiful Briney sea I must share the fab week we spent aboard 'the floating caravan ' in the marina with two babelicious boat guests. They last stayed on board in 2021, when we were based in Greece. I am talking about my beautiful niece Lydia and her bestie Liv (pictured below.)
We arrived back in Valencia on the Ist of June the girls flew in on the 5th. The weather was mixed but the girls managed to fit loads in. We encouraged (well kind of insisted they hire bikes) as bike rides in and around the city are the best way to see the highlights and the cycle lanes would give Holland a good run for their money. Despite early moans of "How much further is it to cycle as my bum hurts," by the end of the week Liv had discovered her brakes and Lydie was racing up and down the old river bed in hunt of an inner tube for Liv's flat tyre like Victoria Pendleton!

The sunbathing was sadly a bit hit and miss - I fear some spray tan may be needed for their forthcoming Uni Ball to cover Lydie's tramlines on her back from her bikini strips.

We have a double inflatable kayak on board. I am about as coordinated with paddles as I am juggling balls, but the girls managed really well. That is until I saw them frantically trying to steer clear of Ricky chasing them on his paddle board with one thing on his mind - get them wet and capsize them! Not so co ordinated or cool then were you girls? Tee hee. Least he didn't try to push you off when you paddle boarded around the marina...or did he?

Thank you for being patient aboard Patience (see what I did there ?) during the thunder storms, playing cards with your old Uncle and Aunt. Also mustn't forget thanks for cooking us that wonderful meal onboard, it was delicious x

I hope you enjoyed staying with us as much as we enjoyed sharing Valencia with you both.
Missing you already - can't wait till your next visit x

Next blog ...coming soon ..sailing down the coast of Spain .
