St. Augustine to Beaufort, NC

Motoring. We have been motoring almost ALL the way from St. Augustine, Florida, well over 500 miles. Thankfully we did some routine work on the engine, and some upgrade/repair to the propulsion system. Stephanie Dawn now has a new prop, prop shaft, cutlass bearing and dripless packing. They did good work at Camachee Cove Boat Yard. Based on advice from friends, we shot out into the Atlantic at St. Augustine and went all the way up to Charleston, SC. At times we were 50-70 miles offshore, but only saw 1-2 foot seas. From there we went to Georgetown, a nice quiet little town with beautiful antebellum homes. Travelled up the Waccamaw River from there, which was absolutely gorgeous. On to Cape Fear River where we anchored out in the middle of a large body of water with strong current. Our Rocna held like a charm. On the way we saw a 3 ft. eagle ray leap out of the water right next to the boat. Wow! Next stop was Camp Lejeune, where we were treated to helicopter flyovers and the sounds of bombs going off in the distance at their practice range. Now here we are at the Beaufort, North Carolina town docks, chillin with the locals and planning the next section of the trip, which will take us up the Dismal Swamp to the outskirts of Norfolk, Virginia and the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. Check out this picture of a small, waterfront cottage for sale. I am talking small. Our boat has more room.
