20180818 Pulau Bukit Lat 00 Deg 27.024'N Lon 104 Deg 25.631'E We didn't move far today, we got up early to get going but when I put my foot on the windlass switch nothing happened. So I spent a few hours sorting that out. By then it was a bit late to make Kentar if Mesanak turned out no good which was highly likely in these conditions, (SE). So we motored around to Benan Island, but there was quite a swell rolling through the anchorage there, so Jan picked out this spot. Its quite comfy now and has been for 4 or 5 hours, hopefully it stays that way. There is a small village on shore so we went in for a look, the kids took us under their wing and showed us all around, it was a nice afternoon, there was a Womans Volleyball match on, we didn't watch for too long, but from what we saw they are pretty good at it. Its a a very small island, pretty basic, but clean and tidy. Not much else to say, we will push on south tomorrow. We anchored in 13 meters with 1.4 meters of tide at Pelabuhan Kijang, I'm not sure what's on the bottom, It didn't feel like rocks, or Coral, there is no indication on the chart, but the general area seems to be Stone, Sand, Mud, or a combination of. The anchor bit well. I need to get an echo sounder that gives a better idea of what the bottom is like.
