Its a bit strange on 1 side of the islands there is a little NE swell running and on the other side there is a little one coming from the SW. Either way this spot was the nicest we found, a little swell getting in but not worth talking about. We went ashore for a stroll along the beach, it was quite nice, a couple of little shacks, there is a built up clearer area just behind the beach, not sure what it was, perhaps an airstrip at one time, its not overgrown enough to be from the war. There is also a track at the southern end of the beach which seems to go across the island, but it was a bit late to follow it all of the way. It's nice and piece full now, I hope it stays that way. Last night was not so great, it was fine at first, but then we got heavy rain at about 02:00, no wind to speak of but it stirred things up and we rolled a lot after that. We are anchored quite deep here at 17.1 meters, with 1.3 meters of tide at Tanjung Pinang, and the anchor bit in hard. You could possibly find a shallower spot, but there are a few fishing traps around, this gives us plenty of elbow room. So all good, looks like we found a nice little anchorage, we will probably push on towards Nongsa tomorrow.
