20180824 Pangkil Island Lat 00 deg 49.416'N Lon 104 Deg 21.007'E |Here we are at Pangkil again after a mixed sort of a day. We started off at first light beating into about 15 knots for an hour or so, then reaching up the channel, it was a nice day until the thunderstorms came. They weren't too bad, rain with about 30 knots of wind, I just dropped the sails and motored, no problem really, we were just a bit close to some shallow water for comfort. We anchored here at about 13:30, anchoring in about 17 meters, with 1.3 meters of tide at Tanjungpinang, the anchor seemed to bite OK. We would have liked to go ashore for a look around, but its an overcast rainy day, with a few thunderstorms around so we decided to stay with the boat, its a bit hot and muggy though, no breeze to speak of. So alls well here and we will head for No Name anchorage at Bundar Island tomorrow, only about 16 miles so maybe a bit of a sleep in. We plan to be at the Nongsa Point Marina Sunday Morning, it will be good to get a hose on to the boat and give her a scrub, she is looking a bit scruffy.
