Well I made it around Sri Lanka, not without copping a clobbering from a Nasty Thunderstorm, Lots of wind, Rain like you wouldn't believe, and lots of thunder and lightning, it lasted an hour or two I suppose. I wasn't too bad to deal with, the lightning scares me though. Jan and I got one in the same place 2 years ago. I've been sailing mainly, but there is hardly any wind, its quite nice at the moment, sailing close hauled about 20 deg off course, it comes and goes a bit. I had the motor on for a few hours around noon. I will keep sailing as much as I can until I get well within fuel range, then use the engine more if needed. I just have to be patient. There are a lot of ships so I need to keep on my toes, AIS makes it easier. Mine has developed a bit of a fault in that it switches COG between my COG and North all of the time, it must drive the other boats mad. I've tried all of the usual tricks, (turning it off, Reset, ect) but no luck as yet. Not much to say, it's a bit slow going, and only 400 miles to go, so it tests your patients a bit.
