After a pleasant overnight 60 mile motor on an oily sea we arrived here yesterday morning, there was absolutely no wind, but it was a beautiful night, the stars were out and reflecting in the water. We were heading south so the Southern Cross was almost directly ahead, it always makes me homesick when I am overseas and see the Southern Cross. We arrived at sunrise but took our time coming in to allow the sun to get high enough in the sky for us to see the reefs. We are anchored in 18 meters over sand, others have anchored near by in shallower water, but this spot gives us plenty of room and is all sand , you can see the bottom. Last time we were anchored in this area it was very roly, but it is fine at the moment. We went over to a couple of nearby islands for a walk and swim yesterday morning, it was very nice, then we spent the afternoon reading and catching up on some sleep. It has been very hot in the afternoons, there has been no wind, we have the shade covers up which helps, but the best thing is to get under a fan and read a book, we sre only 50 miles from the Equator We will stay here today and have a look around the village. Alls well with us and the boat, apart from the Port Nav light which has stopped working.
