I had a really nice day today, I got up early and had a chat to Laura from Neptunes Highway on the HF, they are having a good run down the east coast of Madagascar. Then I got under way in a nice little breeze an sailed down the Channel near Mafia Island, the wind died for a while so had to motor for a couple of hours, then the wind came back and I had a nice sail down here. It is beautiful around Mafia Island lots of clear water and lovely colours nice beaches, very pretty. This seems like a pretty good anchorage at the moment, its blowing about 18 knots from the ESE, I'm out of most of the swell, every now and then gets in and makes us bob around, if I get sideways to it when the wind dies we will probably roll a lot. Its a pretty island white sandy beach a few trees and one big Boab, a few fishing huts. I'm out a bit further than I probably need to be (As Usual). I dropped in 16.6 meters with about 2.2 meters of tide the chart says sand and mud, and it felt like that. So all good, and ready for a nice snooze, I sure slept last night, I made a cup of tea and started to read for a while, there was ¾ of a cup of tea left in the morning, I must have gone out as my head hit the pillow. I've been pushing a bit hard as I want to catch up to some friends, they are only about 40 or so miles ahead now.
