Well we got up yesterday and decided to go for a sail, and ended up here, its a nice
spot, though the wind was getting in a bit yesterday, but it settled down and we had a
good night, its nice now.
It was a nice sail yesterday running pretty square at first, then on the nose for the last
bit. We anchored in about 5.5 meters, pretty much on the same spot as we anchored
last year, the anchor pulled up quite well, there are quite a few other boats here.
We had a nice time at St Anne, got some washing and shopping done, and went out
for a nice dinner, its a good spot.
Not sure how long we will stay here, the wind bay back around to the NE in a day or
two, so it might get a bit bumpy, we will see.
Not much else to say, all's well with us and the boat.

We had a nice sail over here yesterday, after a pleasant stop at Rodney Bay, we didn't
see much of St Lucia, but stocked up on food and wandered around, the
Supermarkets are very good, We hope to go back on the way South in a couple of
months
We were close hauled on the way over, but sailing a bit above STE Anne, so had a bit
in the bag and were able to bear away as we got close. We had a reef in the Main and a
little bit of jib out,. It was quite nice.
It is very crowded here, so we are a long way down the anchorage, which is ok, just a
long dinghy ride to town (About a mile), but we can go in to the beach down this end
where there is a nice walk along the coast.
We tried to check in yesterday, but they were closed, and will be today, so we will go
to Le Marin on the bus, then do some washing as there is a Laundromat here.
Not much else to say, we will probably be here for a couple of days, its a nice little
spot.

Nice Sailing

We arrived here in Rodney Bay St Lucia about around 1 am yesterday, after a nice sail
up here from Bequia, it was pretty long and on the nose a fair bit, but fun just the
same, mostly in about 15 Knots.
Entering the bay in the night was a bit stressful its pretty straight forward, but there
was a lot of boats that were hard to see against the lights on the shore, so we anchored
way out and moved in closer yesterday morning,
We are in about 10 meters now, the holding seems good.
The formalities when checking in were quick and easy, and the officials were some of
the friendliest I have met.
It looks very nice ashore but we haven't seen much yet.
John and Connie from Carriacou are here so we went over and had a chat in the
afternoon returning just after sunset for dinner and a good sleep.
All's well except for the masthead light, which seems to have come loose, probably
due to all of the rolling in Bequia, so I'll have to go up there I guess.
Not much else to report, we are here for a week ish, then over to Martinique.

We had a nice sail here today, on the nose and windy at times, but not too bad.
The boat went well apart from a Jib Sheet coming undone, which was my fault. The
Mast still needs a bit of adjustment but its pretty close
We had a lazy time at Saline Bay, but it was nice.
It's nice to be back here in Bequia, we haven't been to shore yet, but will do in the
morning,
Not much else to report all's going quite well at the moment.

Lazy Days

25 February 2024 | Saline Bay

We arrived here at Saline Bay yesterday after a 2.5 mile Motor, then kept the Engine
running for a hour or so to make some water, the water maker is doing OK but will
need a membrane soon.
We have been very lazy because we have been up between 1 &3 AM for a couple of
nights watching Tom race, They did so well, 2nd position in the Grand F.inal, they are
really sailing well.
So we haven't even been off the boat, just snoozing and reading ect, which is OK as
its been a hectic time on the hard.
Its nice here a bit of a roll, but not too bad, its quite pretty, we will go for a swim and
walk later on today.
Not much else to say, we will probably head to Bequia tomorrow.

Well we are moving again after a long stay in the Marina.
We got a lot of work done and had a nice time, but are really glad to be on
our way.
We will spend another year in the Caribbean, we still have some work to do
and want everything done before we head to the Pacific.
But for now we will head north Island Hopping and relaxing.
One of the jobs we did was replace the components in the fridge, and what a
difference, the old one was keeping things cold , but using so much more
power, this one is much more efficient. We were running the motor for to top
up the batteries for an hour most days, But now hardly ever, its so good not
having to run the motor just to generate power.
Not much else to report alls going mostly ok, just a few little bugs after the
long stay.
