15 April 2018 | Gennaker flying from Marathos to Lipsi
warm, sunny, Caroline

Started early today to catch the wind, put up the gennaker and sailed half way to Lipsi, couldnt get it to move to other side as was tangled, then the wind got up a bit, so we pulled it down and stored away, replaced it with the genoa and sailed the rest of the way to Lipsi. Entered the harbour which is shallow, but increases in depth as you move towards the quay. Went stern to, cat, motor boat and 2 other yachts here, joined in the afternoon by a few more and a large cat next to us. There is a huge wooden tripper boat being sanded down on our port side, so making sure we dont open any portholes that side as dust everywhere. The harbour is surrounded by shops and overlooked by many churches, but a huge one dominates and is high upon a rock.
We paid 3 euro for the port man to tie us up and give us info, then 10.35 euro for port fees per night. He also collects the rubbish every morning at 9.30am, great service.

Went for a really nice walk around Lipsi town, its very pretty with lots of little streets up from the front, an amazing amount of churches in a small area, we counted 15 surrounding the harbour and town, had a look at the big one in town and the little square managed to get some fruit and bread for lunch. Went and lit a candle in the tiny church up from the harbour.
