Where are we?

Hi all!

The crew is doing well and now seems to think that they can manage the sails all by themselves. As captain I feel a certain, basic, (maybe paranoid), need to be in complete absolute control. Therefore, I decided this morning that I would not longer tell the crew where we are. The crew took this news discouragingly which made the captain happy.

Other news: The seas are still rough, but not as bad today. We over on our side a bit, and crashing into every 5th wave.

Dad's washing the dishes and has been doing an extremely efficient job. He hardly uses any water at all. Unfortunately, our dishes often contain remnants for the previous meal which seems slightly unsanitary.

Tim's keeping a secret journal and writes in it every day, While writing in his journal he seems to look at me often, say something under his breath, and shakes his head. I think I might be his hero.

Most of yesterday's entertainment was centered around watching a bird trying to land on the boat. Much betting went on - odds changed dynamically. In the end, the bird failed.

We saw our fist plane last night. Dad claimed it was a UFO and then started quoting the eminent, UFO-ologist, Dan Akroyd (from Ghostbusters).

Dad changed his tactics for owning the music played on the boat. He suckered us by asking us if we wanted to listen to Elton John. We then listened for 1/2 hour to Elton John singing his greatest Disney Hits. He's a crafty one, my dad.

Lastly, thanks all for the suggestions for the jib roller furling. I'll be checking it out more thoroughly when/if the weather settles down. We're still only running with 2/3 staysail, and a reefed main. The seas are just to big and compressed to go faster and we're having to keep the boat running slower than we'd like in order to make sure that we keep our sanity.
