Galapagos

Sean
We arrived at Academy Bay around 9:30 this morning. The last 24 hours were very plesant and we spent most of yesterday traveling at 4 knots under main sail alone. We were in no hurry; we didn't want to show up at the bay in the middle of the night.

Our water tanks are full and we spent 60 gallons of diesel and 1 gallon of gasoline on the entire trip. We just contacted another cruiser and found out that diesel is 1.02 a gallon here. I wish we would have used more diesel now.:)

The bay is very pretty and the water is very clear. We saw some small sharks swimming next to our boat at anchor this morning. They were small, though, and not that menacing.

We're unable to checkin today so have decided to do a covert mission to shore anyway. We have to contact a water taxi to help us though. The water taxi charges 60 cents a person to go to shore.

Tara and Casey reluctantly did some schoolwork today. Tara is threatening mutiny if she doesn't get to shore soon
