Isolation

Our trip to the Marquesas Islands has been pretty uneventful so far. I guess we should be thankful for that, though. If it were eventful then I suppose we'd be in a lot of trouble. But, no worries, we've been safe so far. All we've been having is light winds, and slow, lumbering waves. We've established a routine that we all follow: Wake up, read, do a little bit of school, lunch, more school, dinner, movie, bed. But through my schedule I've still found a fair amount of time to think. Most of the time I think about isolation. In fact I've been thinking about that word for so long that I even looked up the definition:

Isolate- Cause (a person or thing) to be or remain alone or separate.

Ugh, that's the story of my life! I thought. Anyway, I doubt that anyone reading this knows what it's like to be separated from the entire world for twenty-five days so allow me to describe it to you: Mom Signature annoying phrase(s)- "Tara! Your turn to wash the dishes!" "Ugh! Girls you have to eat more left-overs!" "School time!" Signature annoying noise- Moans continuously because of exhaustion from watches.

Casey Signature annoying phrase(s)- "Are we there yet?" "I'm hungry, make me some lunch." Signature annoying noise- I asked my mom about this one. "What annoying noise does Casey make?" I asked. "Pretty much every time she opens he mouth is annoying." Said mom. I decided not to contradict her authority.

Dad Signature annoying phrase(s)- "Isn't this great?!" "Tara, you know how you told me you want to get off this stupid boat? Well, you can leave any time!" [Laughs and points out to open sea. We are thousands of miles away from anywhere.] Signature annoying noise- Whistles/ humms movie theme songs whenever I'm around him (Oh! Tara you'll like this one! Dun-dun-dun-dah-dah-dun-dah-dah-dun?) So there's my life for you in black and white. 18 days till we get there, if we're lucky.
