Seabiscuit vs. War Admiral

23 May 2008 | Marquesas
Sean
This is Tick-Tock Mc Laughlin talkin' to you live folks. Yes sir! If you haven't heard this, then you're probably dead. That's right - I'm talkin' about the match race between Seabiscuit and War Admiral.

Seabiscuit, the Catalina 42 from California - the little boat that could - she's smaller, and lighter and just no match for the superior breeding of War Admiral, says the folks from the east.

War Admiral, a Swan 57, is longer, sleeker, better bred, and let's face it - just a much better boat.

But Seabiscuit doesn't know it folks. She keeps steaming ahead, chugging along, Barreling alon-. Uhh. Yes, that's right - she's tryin' with all her might. Her only hope is that she sails well in light winds.

Seabiscuit broke first, by three days, and took the lead early. But War Admiral continues to close on the leader folks. Now they're neck-and-neck. Can Sea Biscuit hold out?! Well, word on the Flyin' Fish net is that Seabiscuit has a better chance of winning the lottery than winning this race.

That's right! It's heart vs. breeding; light vs. heavy; short vs. long; and gennaker vs. spinnaker. It's the tortoise vs. hare. It's the long shot of long shots and it's coming to you live from the middle of the Pacific.

This is Tick-Tock Mc Laughlin tellin' you to stay tuned! This one's goin' be a doozie!

Positions: War Admiral (Astra): 06.30'S;122.14'W Seabiscuit (Adventure): 07.21'S;121.40'
