Throwback Thursday

02 September 2015
What seems like a lifetime ago, we met Paul and Nancy in Bootkey Harbor. They came into the restaurant Randy and I were working at our first winter living on our sailboat Sabbatical. We got to chatting as boaters do, realized he was from our neck of the woods in New England. Instantly we clicked......he was a "cool cat" that played the base and she was a bubbly, adorable woman with the warmest smile.

We became friends and with the common goal of sailing to Cuba, we had much to talk about over dinners and happy hours. Well as boaters all know, we ended up on different time frames, schedules, commitments, etc. We went our way, they went theirs and we lost contact.

Well one of the highlights of our summer was reconnecting with them a couple of weeks ago. They were coming to PROVINCETOWN with friends for the day. Sixteen years of separation melted away the minute we saw them. It was an awesome visit and we are looking forward to seeing them again in the next month before we all head south....again going in different directions. We certainly hope it won't be another sixteen years between visits, but even if it is we will always pick up where we left off. That is just how it is when you meet amazing people!
