Making Jade into a home
31 October 2020
Randy and Ellen Trullo
We are back in Oriental North Carolina. We immediately went to work on Jade. We painted the bottom, got rid of the green stripe at the top, a little varnishing in the salon area. We are launching on Wednesday. We will be excited to be on the water. We set her up for the first time since we bought her last February. It always feels like she will never be cozy, but once the cushions come in, curtains and rugs, she becomes a home. I used the same material for cushions that I used on Narwhal. I overbought as usual. It is such a reasonably priced fabrics and totally wearable. This is the fourth set of cushions I've made with that type of fabric. It's very similar to Microsuede but at $6.95 a yard I can afford to make mistakes. We also put rubber flooring on the walls and bench of Randy's tool room. She has three staterooms. Ours in the bow and two in the stern. We will keep one for guests and storage and Randy will have the other one for his tools. It's a perfect scenario as he can shut the door. I really don't need to know what is going on back there. More pictures to follow after launch on Wednesday!!
