Day 25 2610 miles

09 July 2015 | Underway
yes and boy last 24 in Fog thick.. no wind for 9 hours 0 so motored had to.. and made water did repairs to chafe on furler lines. too winds came back to well 8.5 at 8 pm so put sails out and moved along at 3 knots till about 10 pm now back in 25 knots steady seas 8 ft and we moving along at 6 plus knots..

last night too was a night.. scarry for awhile as Sean got an AIS warning.. and it was only 1.5 miles out.. strange as it should have come up at least 6 miles out. i hailed the ship Victoria. asking is she was aware of us.. NO no radar on you. asked our co ordiance.. we gave still no radar.. no visual either even with our mast head lights and strobes going

they said they would alter to starboard. to give us room with us under sail... we agreed that would work for us.. as we stared at the screen as they moved passed us all 200 ft of them.. i called them back when we were clean and thank them for altering course.. . wished them well.. and sat down and felt so releaved that we got the warning.. still worroied tho as that is too close.. this is after a close encounter earlier in the Fog day with a massive tree.. again SEan saw it because of all the bird life on it and flying around it.. it was covered with mussels. and of course would give them fresh water. from the rain and dew.. then this am.. another log while we were getting sails sorted for winds this am.. birds again gave us the warning.. we were alble to alter course.. as it was very heavy with water. laying low in the water.

so know we are keeping a keen eye out on the birds.. and ships of course..

and a few minutes ago a wave decided to wet out galley as we had the plexi out. over night. to sit in companionway to keep warm.. if we could.. and well down came the wave.. got stove etc.. so plexi back in ..

spam on the lunch menu.. with re fried beans on a wrap with cheese.. got to keep some stuff sticking to our ribs.. for warmth..

so position 40 27.011N 171 19.149 W sog 5.8 cog 079 winds 25 knots seas temp 14 air 62..

till another day.
