A quiet Sunday in Boqueron

Weather: sunny with showers, wind n/a, waves n/a
Today was the take advantage of it being a Sunday sort of day. We got up late and spent the morning sitting around and reading our books. I did have a mad 5 minutes when I vacuumed the cabin - its amazing just how much dust gets inside the boat, never mind the 6 cats that are obviously hiding out somewhere on board if the cat hair is anything to go by!
We eventually had showers and got dressed before taking the dinghy ashore for lunch. There are a whole load of street vendor stalls along the waterfront that sell all sorts of quick foods like satay sticks and fresh oysters plus drinks like pinna coladas and pineapple juice. We had dog on a stick (it was really chicken) with a slice of bread stuck on the top of the stick, it was very tasty but not quite enough to satisfy the hunger. We then made our way to a small cafe/bar with the intention of just having a cold drink. We took one look at their menu and decided that we would also order some food, I had the most delicious open sandwich with smoked salmon and goats cheese and Gerry had a BLT with fries, we both had mojitos followed by the specialty of the place which was a sangria. We stretched our sitting there out until we would have been embarrassed to sit there any longer, then went for a stroll along the water front hoping to find somewhere to buy an ice cream. We were well out of luck, there were no shops that sold anything like ice cream to be seen so we took our bat and ball and went back to the boat where we wasted away the afternoon. Gerry had found a TV channel that was showing world sailing championships, in English, so we suffered having to watch idiots who race sail boats for the fun of it until it was dinner time. I managed to take the photos off of the camera and labeled them then prepared a quick salad for our dinner. It was a good job we were on the boat or we would have gotten wet as the heavens opened in the late afternoon which cooled things down for a short while but now we are suffering the humidity that is the result of rain and sun with no hatches open and no breeze to cool the place down - it's a tough life!
The sunset was a disappointment as there was so much cloud around that the green flash was never going to be visible, oh well maybe tomorrow! We are currently being rocked about as a load of stink boats are returning to the harbor, presumably they have been away for the weekend and are coming back ready for the working week. It's time to watch an episode of Dark Matter before an early bedtime, after all we have to sort out getting to the customs offices somehow tomorrow - that will be another wasted day but it has to be done, I'll let you know how it goes in the next exciting installment.
