HAPPY VALENTINES DAY ONE AND ALL
The day began looking overcast and miserable. Gerry decided to jump in the water early and do a bit more scraping along the water line, it's amazing how much growth occurs when you are stationary for a while. I decided to make a salted caramel and apple cheesecake, it's Valentine's day after all, besides which the apples were beginning to wrinkle a bit and were probably on their last legs! Making the cheese cake takes a lot of time and of course you need to use every damn saucepan and bowl on board, but I did it and the cheese cake went into the fridge to set ready for tonight's dinner.
Once Gerry was out of the water and showered all the hatches got opened - the invitation had been sent out! It didn't take long for the first spits of rain, hatches got closed, rain stopped, hatches re opened. This time however the rain came down in torrents so the hatches remained closed after the rush to keep the rain out was over. The day continued to be cloudy, wet and miserable, not that we were really complaining as it gave the deck a decent wash off. We remained in the comfort of the salon all day, played Guess that tune/artist for a while until we realized that we were on a losing streak. The iPod was on random and I swear that some of the music that came up wasn't put on the iPod by me even though I'm the only one who loads it ever, it was good to hear some of the music that we haven't played in a while though. When we got bored with that we read for a while, had lunch and then decided that as the rain wasn't going to let up at all we would have a movie afternoon. Gerry unfortunately had charge of the channel changer and his first choice of a movie - 4 Lions, I had a hissy fit as I didn't want to watch it so we settled on Hotel Rwanda - a movie we have both seen before! I really need to get him past the letter H as I'm sure there are movies further down the alphabet that neither of us have seen! Anyway it passed the time until dinner, which was a throw together of stuff that was dying in the fridge followed by the cheesecake - nothing too romantic about our day that's for sure! 2 more episodes of Mr. Robot and it was time for bed. Not a particularly exciting way to spend the day but you get that sometimes!
